Surprise surprise!

Every year, Feb 13, day before Valentine’s day I always tell people I stay up too late that next morning I don’t have the energy to celebrate Valentine’s day. Tonight is no exception.

I am a chef so I work most days with longer hour from 8-10hours. I rarely get the chance to celebrate occasions with family and friends. Valentine’s day for example. To most people, they go out and celebrate this day with their special someone. As for me, both my boyfriend and I are working. So we had to rain check whatever we want to do or plan. But that doesn’t mean I didn’t get special gifts. Because he is that surprising guy, while I was at work Last thursday, he dropped by my place and left me something. Yes I am not a typical roses girl. I like Sunflowers better. But I noticed he loves giving me this especially during winter days whenever sun is out. I keep on thanking him for these. This is the best flower arrangement he has given me. With that purple flower and pot. He said it should’ve had a letter but he did some scribble or something and ended up throwing it. He just used my sketch pad and left it beside it. The note is just timely.. haha. and the panda, well he gave that to me months ago. it’s our own thing. 🙂

Getting back to my late night Feb 13, Tonight I had to stay back til 11:30pm to help out people at work. We had a very busy night and knowing that I had to stay back, well I couldn’t do anything about it. Work is work. During past years, it was the same, I had to work or was doing project for during college.

When I was single, my family and I go out to dinner. Mom would always give me something as a Valentine’s gift. She loves giving her only daughter gifts. When I got into relationships, either I got work or he comes with me and my family out. I’ve never experienced a romantic date with my boyfriend not even a bouqet of flowers these pretty, not until my recent guy. Even if it is not Feb 14, whenever he gets a chance, he surprises me or plans something for us. I am very thankful and glad that he exerts much effort to plan. In return, I cook for him. Of course I am a chef. I want to serve him the best food he can taste. I leave him notes whenever I’m not around and sends him sweet text messages,etc.

Spending Feb 14 alone at home or at work isn’t bad because I am still happy to know that someone loves me and even not on Valentine’s day, we can celebrate love anytime we want. 🙂

My Valentine’s Day Adventure

Today was a tiring but wonderful Valentine’s day. It was a day of adventure for me.

Anyway, back then, I told myself that I’m not going to celebrate this day. But during my UST college days, my friend surprised me with “harana” and flowers for consecutive Vday. She was telling me how I was desperate to have a special someone. She would even make a way to help me find someone. Unfortunately, her plans failed.. 😛

I thought that my Vday during my SPUM college days will be sad. I can’t remember my Vday on my first year. For the second year, I had a Vday date with someone who turned out to be the first one to break my heart. (Boo hoo for me ;( ). Last year was one of the worse Vday. I mean, to think that I was still on the point of moving on from my past. My brothers brought dates, while I was with no one 😦 . (Yeah emo! haha).

But today was another year. I had a date. I didn’t know where we’re going. He just told me to relax and follow him. I dressed up appropriately. I had a feeling that we’ll be walking for a while so I also brought an analog camera and a digital cam.

We went to his mother to gave her flower. –> went to Sigwada Art Gallery but it was closed 😦 –> he thought that the paintings were at Tapsi so we went there –> went to his office (I met his friends) –> I met his collegue who’s into poetry –> Yey he let me eat Potato Corner (He’s helping me to watch out my salt intake) –> we rode a cab to Tomas Morato –> He showed me the art exhibit at Chef’s Bistro ( whom his friend, MJ Tiamzon had a painting) –> we ate at Chili’s (that resto with a big Chili.lol) –> I bought Kozui tea –> Went home

This was a tiring day, but it turned out well for us. He told me he hadn’t plan anything for today. Kudos for him. 🙂 It was his first time.

One thing I told him at the end of the day is that he gave me “Happiness which is PRICELESS.” That’s the best gift he can give me. ^_____^

It’s Valentine’s Day today. probably, I saw flowers, chocolates, balloons, etc. I saw couples hanging out and holding hands and being sweet.

I would usually be up all night by Feb 13 doing something and will end up sleeping at Feb 14. haha.

But today, this year, I’m not. I still have many things to do. And all I can remember during Vday is what happened last year this same day.

I won’t tell you the whole story, but all I can say is that, I was inlove and I was unloved. Happy and sad at the same time right?!?! But wth! We fell inlove at a wrong time. I don’t know how we had that thing and I don’t know why it ended that way. seems complicated? yeah right. But I’m ok now. no need for pity or such. I am happy. at least I am better right.. 🙂
