Back on Track (Book Review)

April 25, 2011 Leave a comment

It was not long enough since I read Ru dela Torre’s Roadtrip. It is a Religious book with a fun way to spread the Good News. Mr. Ru used his personal experiences as a way to tell stories and relating them to God’s goodness.

Upon passing the bookstore OMF, I found out that he has another book, BACK ON TRACK.

Back on track

Back on track tells about how one turns again to God for a U-turn, a stopover and a journey back to track. Lessons on turning back, stopping for a while and waiting. These were some of the things that I learned.

After reading the book, it all occurred to me that throughout my healing and recovery process in a heartbreak, there are these people who guided me throughout. They never let me down. They prayed for me. They shared their stories. They shared a life with God.

It was not that easy to be back on track. Back then, I wasΒ losing hopeΒ on standing up again. I thought i can’t atleast. But thanks to those people who stayed, I was up and running again.

I also learned about Waiting being a process. It is a step by step process. The point of waiting makes it more encouraging to happen. I am waiting with anticipation. Waiting for something to happen, yet I still do things to make it happen.

Sir Ru did explain well how ‘again’ is one of the most powerful word. Today, i will use it to say, I am inspired again. πŸ™‚

Should I choose your love or LOMOlove?

I was thinking on whether to post anything personal here in my blog. But because tonight I’m inspired, I would really would like to share some info on something that I love, PHOTOGRAPHY.

It wasn’t long enough since I started shooting. Well, actually, ever since I was in elementary, I remembered my very first camera (actually it was a family camera). Every time there is an ocassion, I will always bring atleast 2-3 rolls of 36shot film. For my graduation in highschool, I asked for a digital camera.

My first scenery shot from my Kodak Digicam

Not until I transferred to another school that I realized that I need something to do, something new.

I saw an Episode of ‘Wer U At’ wherein they featured this weird looking cute toy cam. After that episode, well, I forgot all about it. πŸ˜›

Anyway, my favorite Teen Magazine, Seventeen, featured some LSI and non lsi camera. That’s when I discovered again Lomocameras. I searched and searched for photos and each just inspired me more to purchase a Lomocam. But because I’ve saved enough, I purchased my 2nd Digital Camera Point and Shoot in August 2008, a handier camera.

On September 28,2008 I purchased Holga 120 GCFN.

I had a not so good result from my first few rolls.

But as months passed, I think I improved.

I have more uploaded photos in my Multiply account and my Facebook but I keep it private and for friends only for security purposes. πŸ™‚

I did purchased more Analog cameras. I don’t have anything against digital. But I’m more at ease using Analog cameras. The urge of waiting for my films to get develop is one of the amazing feelings I felt. πŸ™‚

I think it was 2009 when I decided I would like to have a Lumix LX camera. So I’ve been saving for it for a while, and luckily my Suki is selling it secondhand for a half price. I couldn’t asked for more.

Until now, I am deciding to buy more film cameras whether Lomo or not.

I want to impart my love for Photography to others given a chance. I would do it for free (or maybe not until I go I would like to inspire people as I’ve been inspired by some. πŸ™‚

Keep the passion burning. Live it, Love it, Rock it. πŸ™‚

Tasty Dumplings Foodtrip and Review

April 6, 2011 1 comment

It’s time for another review. This time, I’m going to tell you something about a restaurant and its food.

During one of Marc and I trip using the Team Manila Map of Binondo, we headed down to the streets for a walkathon, adventure and foodtrip. Waiting for our friend, Andrew, made us hungry.

We search for a restaurant near Binondo Church. We headed to TASTY DUMPLINGS. Based from the Map, it was rated as an affordable costing restaurant

I asked the waiteress what is their specialty. She recommended their Porkchop Noodles. At first, I thought that the porkchop is really in the noodles. It was separate.

I thought it would taste like the usual noodle with soup. But it was sumptuous and I can tell that it was freshly made. I mean the noodle itself tastes good. Its soup is well seasoned and not salty unlike others. Every gulp of it makes me ask for more. (sorry i wasn't able to take good photo of this so i used another source)

The porkchop was unlike the others which are oily and has more fats. This porkchop is thinly sliced, well breaded with I think japanese crumbs. It’s tasteful.

Worth almost P105, I was totally satisfied.

For our next visit, I ordered Spare ribs Noodles. I told you I can’t get enough of their soup.

Spare Ribs Noodles

Like the Porkchop Noodles, it tastes different from the usual over seasoned noodle soup. The Spare Ribs was cooked perfectly. It was soft and tasteful. I thought it tastes weird at first, but the second bite made up my thoughts that I liked it.

Its price is P105. I think the tossed noodle (Noodle with sauce comes with the separate soup) costs P113. Based from Marc’s face, I saw satisfaction.

Too bad I wasn’t able to have a photo of my beverage. But I would really recommend their Winter Melon Juice. It is one of the best drink that I ever tasted. πŸ™‚

I would also recommend their dumplings and hongma. It tastes freshier and juicier than that of other.

Offering a variety of food from sidings, rice meals and their sumptuous Noodles, anyone will surely enjoy eating without over spending.

** I would surely come back here once in a while. I would consider this as one of my NOODLE HEAVEN. πŸ™‚

To Kill a Mocking Bird Review

To Kill a Mocking Bird by Harper Lee

To Kill a Mocking Bird by Harper Lee

I’ve been reading this book for awhile and just as I finished, I thought of writing a review. I think I bought this way back my 2nd year in college and misplaced it. Upon finding this after thesis defense, i begun reading.

To Kill a Mocking bird talks about the innocence of children and drama of the adults -saying these things in my point of view (POV). It also talks about some cruelty of life and Harper Lee considered it as a simple love story.

My interest was not easily caught upon reading the first chapters of the book maybe because I was still busy at school. Anyhow, everytime I flipped through it, I let myself experience the things that the characters are doing.

It wasn’t until the last chapters that I became into it. The best experience of reading the book was that it brings me back to childhood. The twist of Scout and Dill made me think of how cute puppy love is. :p

The title made sense to me upon the ending of the novel.

FYI It was also made into a movie.
